Susan Millard aka Sue Millard

British author born in Cheshire. She has written horse stories for adults/older children, non-fictional books about Fell ponies, many articles for native breed and driving magazines and also non-pony fiction.

In 1975 she moved to the Lake District in Cumbria, where she took the area and its native Fell pony to her heart. As well as writing, Ms. Millard has farmed, made and repaired harness and saddlery and judged Fell ponies. Not to mention riding, driving, designing websites and lecturing!

She has her own publishing imprint, Jackdaw Books, through which she now publishes her fiction and non-fiction.

Sian leaves home to work in a racing stables but finds the job hard work and also is beset by emotional problems when she becomes involved with two very different men.
NB - this deals with some quite dark adult issues so is not suitable for younger children.
